Full Details

To start with for editing a Mods price you need to find the mod Zip file located in My documents/My games/FS 2013/Mods, once you have found the zip file of the mod you want to edit, copy this file from the folder and copy it to your documents or another folder.

Once you have copied the mod folder you need to extract it, for this I use the default windows extractor to do this. To use this right click on the zip file then select Extract All. Fig:1

Then set the extract location and click extract all. This then will extract the mod zip file which will look something like this. Fig:2

This is where the article takes different paths. Changing Mod Price To change the price of the mod you need to open the file called modDesc.

Once you have opened the modDesc search for <price> this will then find the line you need for changing the mod price. The line you are looking for should look like this, <price>??</price> with the red section of this been the current pre-edited price of the mod. To change the mod price you change the ?? to the value you want for the mod price. Once you have done this save the modDesc file and skip the to the bottom of this article under the heading of finalising your changes.

Changing the Daily Up keep To change the daily up keep of the mod you need to open the file called modDesc.

Once you have opened the modDesc search for <Upkeep> this will then find the line you need for changing the mod price. The line you are looking for should look like this, <dailyUpkeep>??</dailyUpkeep> with the red section of this been the current pre-edited up keep of the mod. To change this you change the ?? to the value you want for the Daily Up Keep. Once you have done this save the modDesc file and skip the to the bottom of this article under the heading of finalising your changes.

Finalising your changes This part of the tutorial applies to both changing the price of a mod and the daily up keep of a mod.

After saving the modDesc.xml file of the mod you need to exit the text editor. Once you have done this select all the files in the extracted zip file. Fig:3

Then right click the on the modname.xml then select send to—>compressed folder. This then will keep the modzip file name correct. Once you have done this select the newly created zip and cut and paste it back into your mods folder located My documents/Mygames/FS 2013/Mods and your edit is finished.
