How to add buyable fields to your custon map

Game Version: FS15 and later
GE Version: 6.x and later

In this tutorial I will be showing you how to add buyable fields to your custom maps. I will go through the easier field layouts first then move onto the more complex layouts. And then to finish I will show you how to make the field already purchased by the user as a “Starter Field” should we say.

  • Giants editor 5.0.1 which can be found here
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Farming Simulator 2013\sdk
  • You will also need a map of your own for 2013

Introducing you to buyable field's

This is how the buyable field is layed out in the scenograph.

-fields

  1. field01
    1. fieldBuyTrigger ~When placed in your designated space will allow you to buy your field.
      1. fieldBuyIcon ~ This is so that you can see where to buy your field.
    2. fieldDimensions ~ This is where all of the dimensions of the field are kept.
      1. corner01_1 ~ This is the main corner out of all 3.
        1. corner01_2 ~ This corner goes parallel to corner01_1
        2. corner01_3 ~ This corner goes parallel to corner01_2

-fieldMapIndecator ~ This when placed on your map identifies where the field number will show in your pda map

Lets get started

How to add basic (square) buyable fields:

First of all you need to select your field Buy Trigger

Then place it in the middle of your field (ctrl+b and click where you want it is easier)

Next you will need to select your field Map Indicator

Then place the field Map Indicator in the center of your field

Now is where we are beginning to actually create the field. Select corner01_1

Then using ctrl+b click on the bottom left of your field to place it.

Then select corner01_2

Then place it in the bottom right of your field.

Lastly you will need to select corner01_3

And then place it in the top right of your field

It should now look something like this: Corner01_1

That's how to add basic buyable fields.

How to add L shaped buyable fields:

We start of the same as adding a simple buyable field.

First of all you need to select your field Buy Trigger

Then place it in the middle of your field (ctrl+b and click where you want it is easier)

Next you will need to select your field Map Indicator

Then place the field Map Indicator in the center of your field

The same as in the square field tutorial you will need to place Corner01_1 in the bottom left of your field

And then follow by putting Corner01_2 in the bottom right hand corner of your field

Then move the Corner01_3 along the right hand side until it id make it to the hedge the other side of the field

Next you will need to duplicate Corner01_1 and re-name the duplicate version to Corner02_1

Once you've done that you need to place Corner02_1 in the left hand corner where the field goes into the L shape

You then need to place Corner02_2 int the same place as where you placed Corner01_3

Then lastly you will need to place Corner02_3 In the top right hand corner of your L shaped field.

That is how you add buyable L shaped fields

How to make a owned field (Starter Field):

Okay this is for when you have already added/made your buyable fields. For example if you had 24 fields and wanted to have crops in 4 of them and enable it so that when you start a new save game you own them 4 fields that have crop in, This is how you would go about doing this.

Click on the field you with to enable as a starter field.

Select field Buy Trigger, then open up your user Attributes which can be found under Window at the top of g,e

Then in the new attribute box in the user Attributes you need to type:

ownedByPlayer

Exactly as I have written it.

Then you will need to click create

And then lastly click a tick on the little box next to the attribute you have just created.

That's how you make a starter field
