 Select an object or a building. In this case we are selecting the food storage building. Look in the Attributes window and in the marked area you can see the distance is set to 700.

 Lowering the number down will reduce the distance you can see the object/building from.  So we will lower the distance down by removing the 700 and replacing it with 50 then press enter

 As you can see from a very short distance the building can not be seen.
